Graduation show 2025
AFGANG 2025 presents works by Funen Art Academy’s graduating artists: Bertil Breck-Berg, Christina König, Emmarosa Liebgen, Johan Dam Westermann, Mads Hilbert, Malte Frej Linnebjerg, Marie Flarup Kristensen, María Kristín Antonsdóttir, Mette Walsø Brehm, Oluf Green Jensen, Selma Dağdeviren and Solvej Kørner Brekling.
The exhibition is curated by Rebekka Laugesen.
AFGANG 2025 draws us near. This year’s graduating artists explore themes of sensuality, intimacy and the intuitive touch of the hand, while also delving into broader structural and relational questions of time, shame, power, identity and belonging. The works range from personal narratives of motherhood, grief and family to experimental investigations of the body, intuition and science within a production-driven society. Several of the pieces reflect on the symbolic meaning of graduation itself and the deeper, more existential questions it raises.
Spanning a wide range of media and materials – from woodwork, photography and video to painting, sculpture and large-scale installations – the exhibition is a testament to five years of artistic immersion. At a time when the world at large is looming with all its unrest and alienation, the 2025 graduates insist on what is close at hand, on presence – and above all, on a way of engaging with our surroundings that is grounded in care.
AFGANG 2025 is generously supported by the Augustinus Foundation, Aage and Johanne Louis- Hansen’s Foundation, Engineer N.M. Knudsen’s Foundation, June 15 Foundation, Mølleren’s Foundation and Entrepreneur Marius Pedersen’s Foundation.
