Research Collaborations

On 1 September 2026, Funen Art Academy welcomed its first PhD student. Visual artist Michelle Eistrup is embarking on a three-year research project entitled Echoes in Motion. Re-enacting Cultural Heritage Through Artistic Practice and Transnational Collaboration, funded by the Novo Nordisk Foundation through the Mads Øvlisen PhD Scholarships in Art Historical and Practice-based Research 2026.

The project is hosted by Funen Art Academy in collaboration with the Department of Arts and Cultural Studies at the University of Copenhagen, where Eistrup is affiliated with the Centre for Practice-based Art Studies (PASS).
