Termisk Efterklang, 2026

Brass, heating element, sweat deposits

—

On the balcony, just before to the entrance of the hall, a different kind of tension emerges. The body is moving towards something. Anticipation, concentration, attention.

Termisk Efterklang leans against the surface of the wall up here.

A bent brass sheet hangs like a piece of loosened wallpaper, pulled down by moist and gravity. From small perforations, liquid gathers in droplets that slowly move down onto the warm surface. They evaporate and leave traces behind — of salt, of oxidation, of time.

The sculpture is active. It maintains a constant temperature, close to that of the body. It sweats.

The artwork takes as a starting point sounds as movement, as vibration, transformed and stored as heat within the building. Over decades, the energy accumulates in materials, in spaces, in bodies. It reveals itself in the salt efflorescence of the wall, as an expression of the exhaustion that comes with repetition and performance.

The brass conducts and retains. As instrument, as surface, as body.

The sculpture is an extension of the building. It continues it. It absorbs, transforms, and releases, just as the brickwork already does. Over time, the deposits will work themselves into the surface.

A slow insistence on what otherwise disappears — sweat, tension, energy. Like a parallel skin working with the building without ever letting it go again.
