At henvende sig, 2026

Plaster, steel

—

In the lower level of Odense Concert Hall, the light falls in from above and slowly moves across the surface of the wall.

At henvende sig comes into being in the movement between light and surface.

The plaster blocks are installed directly onto the wall. They appear as fragments — rough, almost monolithic forms where something has been excavated, while something else still remains hidden. On the surface, traces of a body emerge. Not as a whole, but as displaced parts of an organism.

The plaster carries a duality. As a material, it points towards a sculptural tradition and to a process in which form is retained within a particular moment. Yet, here, the motif does not appear alive, but rather arrested. The movement is retained and encapsulated like a prehistoric creature brought out into the light.

The work mirrors a structure in which something originally fluid and sensory appears here as fixed and organised. The same way sound is held within systems, notation, and architecture.

Between the organic and the hardened, a tension emerges. The motif appears in fragments — as something both recognisable and foreign, held within a form that still bears traces of movement.
