memories memorized, 2026

Amplifier, black steel pipe, processed sound from CD archive, transducer, wiring

—

In the basement of Odense Concert Hall, behind closed doors, what has been left behind is gathered. Rows of CDs, recordings, traces of what once resonated and is now on its way out. An archive in dissolution.

memories memorized takes as starting point this space and its accumulated memories.

Two sculptural constructions appear between the empty shelves. Built from welded, segmented pipes, whose lengths follow the frequencies of the space, they appear as agglomerations of something that otherwise cannot be retained. The material is set into vibration and works as both form and sound source.

The sound is reduced: Two frequencies interfering with and shifting through one another. A minimum in which the tonal identity of the building emerges as a persistent, almost bodily presence. At the same time, a processed remnant of the complete sounds of the archive circulates — like a low, insistent undercurrent.

The artwork emerges in the tension between what disappears and what is activated anew. The collection dissolves like physical material, but reemerges as resonanse.

Between structure and vibration, between storage and sound, the space is given a voice. Like an echo of what is still embedded within the building — a sort of sonic subconcious, accumulated over time.
