Anne Marie Carl-Nielsen: Sculpting Lives

Museum Odense has entered into a collaboration with Funen Art Academy, aimed at creating a dialogue between Anne Marie Carl-Nielsen and today’s generation of artists.

Students from Funen Art Academy’s Anne Marie Carl-Nielsen Programme for Art in Public Space have created models of the monuments they are currently working on realising. You can experience the sketches in the dimly lit wax room in the exhibition Anne Marie Carl-Nielsen: Sculpting Lives, where Anne Marie Carl-Nielsen’s small preparatory works for the cathedral doors of Ribe Cathedral and the equestrian statue of Christian IX are also on display. These works later grew in scale and were erected as monuments in public spaces.

The students’ final monuments can be experienced this summer at Odense Concert Hall.
