SOUND OF DANCE is a performative triptych and an attempt to minimize the human performer’s role in a contemporary dance piece. It consists of three sections, where elements conventionally known as “the costume”, “the set design” and “the sound design” each steal the performer’s role as soloist. The deconstruction of theatrical elements allows the elements to appear as forms rather than functions. All of the elements have come together as a result of sound research and the perception of the performance will be strongly ear-oriented, spatially oriented and bodily sensitive. LOCATION X is performing the three separate sections during November-December at three different venues (FAA Project Room, Dynamo and Odense castle). These are experimental performances, with the purpose of gaining experience and gathering feedback for the participating artists. After the performances, the artists will continue to work on it, connect the three sections to create a full-evening performance, that will premier and tour in 2018-2019.
